01 Who we are
insignificANTS is developed by Someone Else's Shoes Interactive LLC ("SES Interactive," "we," "us"), a Michigan-based independent game studio. We can be contacted at hello@sesinteractive.com.
02 What this site collects
The insignificants.com website is a static information site. It does not set cookies, run analytics, collect personal information directly through forms or logins, track your browsing activity, or display advertisements.
When you visit, your browser exchanges some technical information with the server hosting the site (GitHub Pages), including your IP address, the page you requested, your user agent string, and timing. This is standard for any web browsing and is logged by GitHub for operational and security purposes per their own privacy policy.
03 Third-party services
To display the site and offer playtest signup, your browser interacts with a few resources from third parties:
- Google Fonts. Font files are loaded from fonts.googleapis.com when you open a page. Google's servers see your IP address and basic browser information. See policies.google.com/privacy.
- Google Forms. The playtest signup link directs you to a Google Form. If you choose to submit an application, the information you provide is collected by Google on our behalf and made available to us via Google Workspace. Google's privacy policy also applies.
These are the only third-party services involved with the site itself. The insignificANTS mobile app has its own data practices, described in the mobile app section below.
04 If you email us
If you send a message to hello@sesinteractive.com or any other studio email address, that email is received and stored in Google Workspace, operated by Google LLC. We retain the content of correspondence as needed to respond, maintain records, and prevent abuse. We don't share your email content with anyone outside the studio without your permission.
05 The playtest program
If you apply for or participate in the closed playtest, additional terms apply that describe how that information is collected and used. See the playtest participation terms for those details. The signup form itself is hosted by Google Forms.
06 External links
The site contains links to other websites, including the studio site at sesinteractive.com, the playtest signup form on Google Forms, and potentially press coverage or partner sites in the future. Once you click a link to a third-party site, that site's own privacy policy applies. We don't control what those sites do.
07 The insignificANTS mobile app
This section covers the insignificANTS mobile game ("the App") — both the free version and the paid full game — for iOS and Android, and supplements the website notice above. The short version: insignificANTS is a single-player, offline game, and we do not collect, transmit, or sell any personal information through it. There are no analytics, no advertising, no third-party SDKs, no user accounts, and no login.
- What stays on your device. Your saved games and settings (such as camera preferences) are stored locally on your device only. They hold game state — your colony, world, and progress — and no personal information. This data is never transmitted to us or anyone else, and it is removed when you delete the App.
- No data collection or sharing. The App does not collect names, email addresses, contacts, location, photos, or device identifiers, and does not use advertising identifiers (such as Apple's IDFA or Android's Advertising ID). Because we collect nothing, we have nothing to share or sell, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
- No third-party services. The App does not embed third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or social-media services.
- Sharing. If the App offers a way to share a screenshot or clip of your colony, it will pass the image to your device's own share options; we don't receive, store, or transmit it. This feature may not be present in every version.
- Permissions. The App does not request access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, or notifications.
- Purchases. The App currently offers no in-app purchases. If that changes, we'll update this policy and the App's store listing before the feature is released, and any purchases will be handled by Apple or Google, not by us.
- Children. insignificANTS is directed to a general audience that includes children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13; as described above, the App collects no personal information from any user.
- Your rights. Because the App stores data only on your own device and we hold no personal information about you, there is no account data for us to access, correct, or delete. You can remove all locally stored game data at any time by deleting the App.

08 Children
The site is not directed at children under 13. The insignificANTS mobile app is a separate product, made available to a general audience that includes children, and it collects no personal information — see the insignificANTS mobile app section above. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children through this website. Playtest participants must be at least 18 years of age per the playtest terms. If you believe we've inadvertently received information from a child under 13, contact us and we'll delete it.
09 Your rights
If we have information about you, typically because you've emailed us or signed up for the playtest, you can:
- Request a copy of what we have
- Request that we correct or delete it
- Request that we stop using it for any purpose
Email hello@sesinteractive.com with the request and we'll respond within a reasonable time. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights under laws like the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We honor these regardless of where you're located.
10 Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as the game's development and the studio's activities evolve. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Significant changes will be noted at the top of the page or, where appropriate, communicated to playtest participants by email.
